The Lure: Chloe Dao hosted her Spring 2010 collection entitled Lightness at Warehouse Live. Light pastel for spring and popping whites for the brides. Proceeds from the show benefited the Fairy Godmother Project. Post show, the swanky crowd lingered to socialize and dance at the after party featuring DJ Little Martin.
Party: Down Under Sounds
Venue: The Backroom at The Mink
The Lure: On March 16th, the AACC held its inaugural Australian Music Showcase with Down Under Sounds at The Mink. Seven Australian bands made the jump across the pond to play a special sneak preview show before heading up to play at South by Southwest in Austin, TX. Travis Caudle, Sherlock’s Daughter, Darren Hanlon, Grand Atlantic, City Riots, The Chevelles, and Cassette Kids performed sets for a packed room of Aussies, Americans, and general music lovers.

Party: Luxury Men's Night Out at River Oaks Watches
Venue: Brownstone Antique Co-op
When: February 11
The Lure: River Oaks Watch owners David Lewis and Brian Jordan hosted the evening featuring fine scotch tastings, compliments of Glenfiddich and Balvenie, a trunk show of Italian custom clothing by J. Hilburn, and shopping of watches from lines such as Hamilton, Bell, Tag Heuer, Graham, Frederique Constant, and more. Shopping and sipping in the scene crowd included Stuart Rosenberg, Laura Medard, Jean Claude Pratts, to name a few... Makes one ready for a good cigar!

Party: LIVE from the Red Ropes - it's the Oscars!
Venue: Sushi Raku
When: March 7
The Lure: And the award goes to... Houstonians attended an Academy Awards viewing party hosted by Channel 39 news anchor Mia Gradney. Sushi Raku and their 60,000 pounds of red rope draping the walls and ceilings was the perfect venue for this star-studded night. The sexy and stylish group applauded the 10 tables designed by High Fashion Home that featured themes from the 10 nominated films (the fan favorite for the evening was Inglorious Bastards with its sterling silver hand grenades that adorned the table.) The festive room was surrounded by five feet plasma TVs that aired LIVE from the red carpet and later the Academy Award telecast. Throughout the evening Mia held four drawings that benefited the M.D. Anderson Children’s Art Project. Guests walked away with weekend stays at La Torretta Resort and Spa, Hotel Sorella and Hotel ICON, to name a few.
Party: Tea n' Tenors
Venue: St. Regis Hotel
When: February 20
The Lure: Caledon, Scotland's Three Tenors, made a personal appearance performing for some 80+ guests at the British American Foundation of Texas formal tea for presentation of this year's scholarship award. The Tenors: Alan Beck, Ivan Sharpe, and Jamie McDougall; along with Musical Director Michael Barnett, put on a highly whimsical show full of interaction with tea sippers, antics, and laughter.

Party: Rodeo UnCorked! Roundup and Best Bites Awards
Venue: Reliant Center
WHEN: February 21
The Lure: Excitement filled Reliant Center as more than 2,200 wine enthusiasts delighted their taste buds with bites from area restaurants and caterers, while sipping the award winning wines, and even a few beers. Buckles, chaps and saddles were awarded to the 2010 Houston Livestock Show and Rodeo International Wine Competition champions. The competition boasted 1,761 wines from 583 wineries in Texas, across the United States and around the world. Sixteen countries participated in the competition and over 1250 medals were awarded.

Party: BrightBox Open House Launch-
Venue: Brightbox Headquarters

The Lure: BrightBox, a brand marketing and design firm, opened its Houston-based headquarters to the regional business, government, philanthropic, and academic communities. The evening featured delightful bites from S.W. Brothers, cool refreshments, multimedia interaction with a live webcast, a festive photo booth provided by PhotoConQueso, big screen game of Wii, and much more. DJ Josh DuPont provided the musical entertainment for the evening.
Party: JulieBeth Handbags & Cesar Galindo @ Mercedes Benz Fashion Week
Venue: The Box, in New York City
When: February 16
The Lure: JulieBeth Handbags presented the Fall 2010 Couture Collection as a component of Cesar Galindo’s official runway show for the Mercedes-Benz Fashion Week. Ten luxury looks were featured from the new collection by Texas- and New York-based JulieBeth Handbags. Galindo, whose show was part of the official Mercedes-Benz Fashion Week, chose to show his collection at The Box to conjure the rock and performance art mood and set the tone for the show. JulieBeth Handbags was honored to have had this opportunity to continue our work with Cesar Galindo—a true Texas and New York treasure!
